Description
On offer is a large, 100% genuine, first strike copperplate engraving from the 1787 book entitled “A New, Royal and Authentic System of Universal Geography, Ancient and Modern” published by Thomas Bankes & printed by Charles Cook, London. The book included engravings from Captain Cooks voyagers and other celebrated explorers journeys.
The engraving is entitled “A Representation of a Morai or Burial Place at Onhyhee”. Overall it measures 23.5cms wide x 17cms, some foxing & marks as per photos. Looks far better than the photos depict. The rear is blank. Would look stunning framed.
