Stunning, antique 10 carat white gold Belais filigree bow with delicate 10 gold carat chain and pearl accents. The pearls are a lovely creamy white hue with subtle iridescence. Belais manufacturing Company was founded by David Belais 1863 - 1933 and was one of the earliest manufacturers of white gold. After lots of experimentation, the company finally presented their formula to be trademarked around 1920. David Belais was also known as being a founder of the Humane Society for the treatment of Animals in New York, in 1904, he was also instrumental in establishing the first free animal clinic at the Humane headquarters. He served as president there for years without remittance until his death in 1929.
This pretty delicate filigree bow is signed Belais 10K, the delicate chain is accented with lozenge shaped pearls with six dangling tear drop shaped pearl accents. The piece is refined and delightful. It is testament to the skilful artistry of the maker and the beautiful design is timeless. Definitely a piece of history to enjoy and preserve for another hundred years or more.
