A stunning antique 1920's Art Deco style 14 carat white gold BPOE, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks ring, in great condition. The ring is set with a vivid, red ruby, that has been hand etched with BPOE, an elk and a tiny star above the elk. Originally the engraving was filled with white gold but a little of this is missing from the writing and one of the antlers. The synthetic ruby has the same qualities as a natural ruby, optical properties, depth of colour, chemical composition and hardness. The top of this ruby is an octagonal step cut and the facets are underneath, throwing great fire through the stone. The ring itself is classic art deco style with beautiful decorative engraving work all around the setting and shoulders. The ring presents really well and is in good order, it is stamped to the inside with 14k. A fascinating piece of jewellery ready to wear and enjoy.
