Description
Antique 'Georgian Pattern by Towle' Sterling Silver Ice Cream Spoon Set of 5 89.7g
This beautiful set of five ice cream spoons by Towle features their stunning 'Georgian pattern' first produced in 1898. The Georgian flatware pattern was designed by George P. Tilton in 1898. The ornately decorated handle leads to a gold washed bowl and are just stunning. The back of the spoons are marked with the Towle Lion T logo Sterling Pat. 1898 and 925/1000 for sterling silver.
The formal renaissance Georgian flatware pattern is grand and unapologetic, with sturdy columns and a cornucopia of flower garlands. Georgian style was first introduced in 1898 with Grecian similarities. The beautiful designs are refined and expressive with fine details to both sides of the handle. The smooth bowl is gold washed and this is still intact, though a little faded.
This pretty set of five spoons will blend in perfectly with any dining set. The quality workmanship is evident and the spoons will be a favourite for any collector.
