Antique Japanese OKUBO BROTHERS Sterling Silver Inlaid Copper & Bronze Cigarette Case

This stunning vintage Japanese sterling silver cigarette case is double sided and features a beautiful mountain scene with traditional houses. The mixed metal inlay is quite breathtaking. The case mainly comprises of sterling silver with copper and bronze inlay. The case has been given an oxidised finish to allow the tri coloured metals to accentuate the fine details. Inside the case is stamped sterling and to the rear of the case is stamped with a Japanese makers signature, similar to that of Mitsumasa 光正 for the Okubo Brothers company. The case opens and closes perfectly with a good snap and thumb piece to assist in opening. Inside the case the cigarette holder chain is also intact. Although the case has been lightly cleaned, it has not been polished and presents in original condition with visible scratches. Though these signs of a previous life do not distract from the beauty overall of the piece. A fine gift idea or stunning piece to collect.
