Art Deco 1920s Sterling Silver 14ct Gold & Sapphire Set Make-up Compact 85.6g

Beautiful, 1920's Art Deco, sterling silver square shaped compact with 14 carat yellow gold thumb piece set with sparkling sapphires. The compact has an etched design and the sapphires are channel set in an art deco design. Beautiful work by Wordley, Allsop & Bliss who may have been responsible for making the similar Tiffany & Co pieces. Inside the compact opens out to reveal two mirrors and under the top section opens out to reveal a fluffy pink powder puff and powder compartment. The compact presents well with signs of use and light scratches and very small dents commensurate with age, as shown in photos. Signed with WAB, sterling and 14k. A lovely item to collect or could still be used as a stunning makeup compact.
