Beautiful 10ct Rose Gold Decoratively Carved Agate & Pearl Cameo Brooch 5.8g

This beautiful early 1900's Antique agate cameo is set in 10 carat yellow gold and is an exceptional jewellery piece. The cameo itself is so intricately carved, making full use of the natural layers within the agate. The carver is highly skilful and has created a spectacularly well carved portrait in a figurative style. The beautiful lady is picked out in pure white colour against the chocolate brown tones of the background. She has flowing hair and is wearing a shift style dress with a flower fastening. The setting has a very fine razor edge pattern all around the cameo, which frames the portrait perfectly. The cameo is further decorated with a spiral wire design interspaced with iridescent pearl accents

Despite its age this stunning piece is in fantastic condition with a very highly polished surface to the gold. The cameo brooch is hallmarked with 10k to the rear of the clasp. This very impressive cameo would be a fabulous addition to any collection.
