Beautiful Edwardian Larard Bros.15ct Gold Sapphire Doublet & Seed Pearl Brooch

Beautiful Edwardian 15 carat yellow gold Swallow bar brooch by esteemed Australian company Larard Brothers circa 1900's. This delightful little piece has two soaring swallows, embellished with tiny seed pearls vivid blue sapphire doublet accents. Larard Brothers were originally called Larard and Sons in 1874 and quickly became well known as one of the finest jewellers in Australia. Australian made antique jewellery has become very collectable. The sapphire doublets featured a lot in other pieces by Larard, where a layer of sapphire is glued to a rock crystal or similar base to make the gem appear larger. The underside of the brooch is stamped with L.Bro and 15 for Larard Bros and 15 carat gold. The pretty brooch comes with its original box, which unfortunately, is a little worn, mainly the inner silk lining. The brooch is in great condition with just one tiny seed pearl missing. A fabulous Antique piece of Australian heritage to collect.
