Exquisite 14ct Yellow Gold & High Relief Carved Lion Coral Cameo Ring Size L1/2

This exquisite salmon pink high relief, coral cameo features a carved lion head in an intricate yellow gold setting. The carving style is naturalistic and very well executed, the details are fine and the finish is excellent. Unfortunately, the front two teeth have a little loss and one of the bottom teeth is missing. This lion has seen some action and been having a lot of adventures along the way. These small details certainly do not distract from the overall charm of the piece. The lion is roaring and his tongue is curling forward, giving the lion a fearless expression. The coral cameo is secured in a semi bezel setting and also glued for added security. The wire basket design supports the frame of the ring and creates a bold statement piece. All around the outside edge of the undulating setting, are an array of diamond accents. The diamonds enhance the regal beauty of the lion, the king of the jungle.

This style and design of the cameo ring dates this stunning piece to around the 1960's and the coral is vintage and looks to be undyed, presenting with natural striations within the coral structure. Stamped with 14k to the rear of the setting. This delightful cameo ring, in original condition, will be a lovely addition to any jewellery collection or be highly desirable to a vintage coral collector. Vintage coral carvings of this calibre are getting harder to source.
