Mexican Sterling Silver Turquoise Coloured Stone Inlaid Clip on Earrings 5.7g
Beautiful stylised swirl design similar to the style of Margot De Taco also known as Margot Van Voorhies Carr around 1960's, made in Mexico and stamped with Taxco, Mexico, Sterling and MA. Miguel Arias worked for Margo in her jewellery studio and it is possible, he was the maker of this piece under the influences of and possible direction of Margo. After her company went into arrears, Margot also allowed the artists working for her to use her molds as repayment for money owing. Margot De Taxco Jewellery has become highly collectable as her artistic flair and use of enamel really set her apart from her contemporaries. Margot's work was heavily influenced by Japanese design, pre-columbian and mexican design as well as the Art deco movement. This piece has similar attributes and was popular at the time. The colour of the inlaid stone baby blue with white flecks, which adds a textural dimension to the earrings. The earrings are in good condition for their age.
