RARE 1881 Thomas Edison Australian Patent #3005 "Improvement Electro-Magnetic"
On offer is a rare patent, No. 3005 lodged in Victoria, Australia on the 04/05/1881 by Thomas Alva Edison for "Improvements in the construction of machinery and appliances for electro-magnetic railroads and in the generation, distribution and translation of electricity for working the same" The lot includes a large Photo lithograph of original drawings and a 6 line wording, obviously incomplete. It is understood that these patents were issued as loose sheets as periodicals by the Victorian Government to Lawyers and Institutions with an end result of compiling patents for the calendar year. Also noted is that an unrelated patent No. 3015 lodged by Westinghouse is included in the lot as it forms part of the page which includes Edisons patent. The drawing sheet is 43cms x 27cms when unfolded & the pages 27cms x 20cms.
