RARE 1937 Wep / William Edwin Pidgeon Royal Sydney Show Very Large Artgravure.
William Edwin Pidgeon was a 3 time Archibald prize winner, a truly acclaimed Australian Artist. 100% genuine & not a recent copy. It is the front page of the Royal Show Souvenir, Sydney, Thursday, March 25, 1937. It depicts the show judge, L W Lower awarding the Grand Champions prize to 2 men in a horse suit with 2nd prize going to a wooden horse, all to the crowds & participants utter amazement. Very large, measures 57cms x 40cms. Some foxing, worn through the centre with some small holes & tears, some minor tears & losses to the margins. It is lightly hinged to white acid free backing board & protected with a plastic sleeve. Will be posted flat.
