Rare c1911 ALPEN Tour / Alpine Motor Trials & Rallies Huge Metal Trophy Plaque.


Without a doubt, one of the rarest & earliest European Rally trophies ever offered for sale. According to the research Emails & Book offered for sale with the trophy, it pre dates WW1, is German / Austrian in origin & possibly relates to the Alpine Trials (Alpenfahrt) organised by the Imperial & Royal Austrian Automobile club annually from 1911 to 1914. Unfortunately this is the extent of information we can offer. Judging by the screw holes to the rear, the plague was more than likely attached to a solid wood or metal backing at some stage. It's huge, 43cms wide x 32cms high & weighs approx 2.5kilos. Some surface wear, but considering it's approx 110 years old, in good condition.
