Description
According to the printed description (see photo) the set was displayed in a German / Austrian Jewellery store as a salesmans' sample set.
However we believe the dates are wrong, the set may be closer to 1930s / 1940s (pre WW2). We can not verify the statement “The only surviving complete set in the World”. The set came from a German immigrant family who’s family were jewellers. Superbly handpainted with gold gilt overlay in various floral pattern forms. It consists of 18 pieces + 3 lids. There are 5 cups, 5 saucers, 4 plates, sugar, creamer, pot & sweets bowl. It is not complete, it’s missing one sandwich plate and the odd piece appears to have been used as there is some gilt loss to the rims of plates. As far as condition goes, no chips, cracks or repairs can be found and importanly no crazing.
