Description
This is an original not a recent reproduction. Looks far better than the photos depict. Rare 1940s Victorian (Aust) Railways huge poster, "Apollo Bay", Victoria, Australia. Artwork by James Northfield (1888-1973), printed by Queen City Printers, Melbourne, colour process lithograph. It has been matted, ready to frame, poster size 90cms x 58cms, matted size 112cms x 73cms. The poster has been professionally restored, it was in average condition when first found, it has some repairs, there’s evidence of the restoration, particularly around the Apollo Bay name. A small bottom section of the poster had to be discarded due to its poor condition. The wording TAKE A KODAK is missing. The poster is illustrated in the book 'James Northfield, the Art of Selling Australia’.
