SUPER RARE Australian WW2 Cautionary Poster by Harry Garnet Kelly "The Fire Bug"
Australian WW2 cautionary poster produced by the Allied Land Forces Headquarters (LHQ formed in 1942) to stress the vital necessity for the care and preservation of ammunition during storage, handling and transport. This poster is No.5 in a series of posters designed by Harry Garnet Kelly. Munitions workers were only one of dozens of groups within the civilian population subjected to posters campaigns. This poster features a graphic depiction of a "Fire Bug" in this case an angry face in red with flames and smoke for hair. The image and text are integrated with the title in red next to the graphic. Beneath this is a listing of 5 regulations to be followed to prevent ammunition catching on fire. The bottom of the poster is set against a yellow background.
100% original & genuine. Some minor foxing, creasing, wear, small surface losses. Has been professionally matted ready to frame. Poster size 41cms x 29cms, matted size 62cms x 49cms. Sealed in a plastic sleeve for protection, hence the reflection in the photo's.
