Description
Examined by a several Harvey School collectors / dealers, with the final opinion being that it is more than likely Harvey School and was produced by either Evelyn Buggy or Val McMaster. Not many of the Harvey School pupils did Dragons and some suggested this may be an early experimental piece. The design of the Dragon is very similar to other pieces produced by Evelyn Buggy & Val McMaster. The piece is not signed. It does have losses to the Dragons upper jaw and its lower leg (see photo’s), but could be repaired by a master potter.
The piece is huge, measuring 26cms high, the diameter of its bulbous centre is hard to measure, but approx 20cms. It must weigh 2 to 3 kilo's. The 4 legged base is slightly uneven. Despite the losses its an INCREDIBLY RARE & SIGNIFICANT HARVEY SCHOOL PIECE. Add a few more dollars if repaired. Free post within Australia.
