Vintage 1930s Austrian .900 Silver Art Deco Design Mirrored Compact 110g

Stunning, .900 silver, mirrored make up compact featuring a geometric art deco design. The elegant compact was made in Austria in the 1930's and has a tiny Austrian stamp of a birds head with 2 and W, meaning the purity of the case is .900 silver and that it was made in Vienna. Inside the compact opens to reveal the original powder lid, missing the applicator and mirror. The mirror is still intact but is a little loose, stamped with Metal to the mirror surround. To open up the compact are two small thumb pieces to make the process easier. The technique of engine turning has been used to create the precision cut design and texture of the compact. The fine workmanship is evident in the clean, crisp snap closure of the compact. A fine example to add to your collection.
