Beautiful set of .900 silver Egyptian decorative bowls featuring a repeating hand engraved pattern around the rim and body of the bowl. The bowls also have a fine beading detail all around the rim. The first hallmark to the base show the origin of the bowls to be Cairo, Egypt and the cat is the standard mark from 1940 - 1946 and finally the Arabic numeral or date stamp for 1941. These bowls would have a limited production as they were made the year before WW2. Though these silver bowls are already 81 years old they are in good vintage condition, with just light scratches and some dark spots that could be removed with polishing, commensurate with their age. They are a fabulous set to collect or use to present food on the table.
