Vintage Taxco Sterling Silver Onyx Inlay Ozomatli Monkey Pendant/ Brooch 15.3g
This stunning Mid-Century brooch and pendant combination piece is made in Taxco, Mexico. The front features a classic interpretation of the Ozomatli monkey. In ancient Aztec and Mayan cultures, the Ozomatli symbol represented beauty and the arts. This example is crafted with expertise and the inlaid black onyx and turquoise really adds to the allure of the piece. Signed to the rear with Hecho en Mexico, old Mexican silver mark of the eagle stamp (1955 - 1980) and Taxco. The brooch fitting is working perfectly and the piece can also be worn as a pendant.
