The writing to the back of one appears to be   L/Cpl Matthews W C on duty in cabin 45, main deck.  Batman (then unknown signature)  Of course a BATMAN in war time is a soldier assigned to a commissioned officer as a personal servant. The 2 items were purchased along with other WW2 Australian related items. No history is known about the items.
